Applied Skills Session 2504
Neuroimaging of Parkinsonism - A Practical Guide
Monday, October 5, 2026
16:00 - 17:30 | Conference Room North 203, Level 2
This session brings together two complementary perspectives on the neuroimaging approach to parkinsonism. The first part will focus on key structural MRI patterns that help distinguish Parkinson's disease from atypical parkinsonism, and the second part will explore the use of dopaminergic imaging and MRI across a range of classical and rare movement disorders.
Moderator(s):
Irena Rektorova, Czech Republic
Presenters:
Ling Ling Chan, Singapore

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be better able to:
- Identify key structural MRI features that help differentiate Parkinson's disease from atypical parkinsonian syndromes
- Explain the applications of dopaminergic imaging in the evaluation of classical and rare parkinsonism with overlapping movement disorders such as ataxia and dystonia
