At the conclusion of this session, participants should be better able to:

  1. Identify the factors that impact on swallowing and cough management and determine the relative benefits and risks of artificial nutrition and hydration in a patient with dysphagia
  2. Consider the challenges of speech management in late stages of parkinsonism and appraise the role of multimodal speech interventions in maintaining employment and social/family roles
