In this session, the faculty will discuss, using case-based video presentations, the episodic and paroxysmal movement disorders, focusing on their unique clinical features and advancements in understanding their genetic basis. Additionally, they will explore the clinical phenomenology and electrophysiological features of functional movement disorders. Management principles will also be briefly discussed.


Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be better able to:

  1. Identify the clinical features of episodic and paroxysmal movement disorders and describe advances in genetic understanding of these disorders.
  2. Identify the clinical and electrophysiological features of functional movement disorders and briefly discuss the management principles of these disorders.
