At the conclusion of this session, participants should be better able to:

  1. Describe how phenotype, genetics, and biomarkers can be used to predict disease progression in Parkinson’s disease, both in the routine and research clinic
  2. Discuss the clinical, pharmacogenetic and other factors can be used to predict response to and optimize symptomatic treatment in Parkinson’s disease
  3. Recognize how genetic and epigenetic factors influence the hereditability of Parkinson’s disease, what and when to test, and what to advise patients and their children in the clinic
