Peer Review Bootcamp

In this interactive session based on a year-long program sponsored by the MDS, the faculty will engage participants in reviewing available guides on the Peer-Review process and sharing strategies to identify Peer- Review opportunities. Participants will also access exercises based on actual manuscripts submitted to Movement Disorders and Movement Disorders Clinical Practice and see both the format and content of reviews prepared by senior reviewers within the field.

At the conclusion of this session, participants should be better able to: 

  1. Utilize concrete strategies to contact mentors and journal editors on their interest in gaining peer-review opportunities within Movement Disorders 
  2. Access available background and interactive opportunities to enhance peer-review exposure and experience 
  3. Evaluate examples of actual manuscripts and compare their evaluation with reviewers’ comments within the movement disorders field
