All regular accepted abstracts are published as a supplement to the MDS Journal and are available utilizing a searchable feature on the International Congress website starting June 4. Please also visit the MDS website to access the Movement Disorders Journal, where you can download a PDF of accepted abstracts.
All registered International Congress delegates will also receive the published abstracts on a USB, available for pickup in the registration area during regular International Congress hours.
Late-Breaking Abstracts and MDS Study Group Abstracts are published as an online supplement on the International Congress website and are available for download starting June 4.
Basic Science Designated Posters
Posters that would be of interest to the basic scientist will be flagged within the poster viewing area and indexed so that they can be easily identified.
Guided Poster Tours
Guided Poster Tours give groups of delegates an opportunity to hear discussion on a select group of abstracts in several sub-categories. Attendance is limited and advanced registration is required. Guided Poster Tours require a ticket to attend. Please check with the registration desk onsite for ticket availability.
Abstracts selected for a Guided Poster Tour presentation are published in a supplement to the MDS Journal, and can be found on the searchable abstract website.
All accepted Late-Breaking Abstract posters are displayed in Ballroom D, Monday – Thursday throughout the duration of the International Congress. Late-Breaking Abstract poster presentations will take place Wednesday, June 7 from 13:15 - 14:45 in Ballroom D.
MDS Study Group Abstracts
All accepted MDS Study Group Abstract posters are displayed in Ballroom D, Monday – Thursday throughout the duration of the International Congress. MDS Study Group Abstract poster presentations will take place Wednesday, June 7 from 13:15 - 14:45 in Ballroom D.
Poster sessions give each delegate an opportunity to view their colleagues’ posters on the most current research in the field of Movement Disorders. Authors will be present for 1.5 hours each day to explain their work and answer questions. All accepted abstracts are presented as a poster at the International Congress.
Case studies will be displayed and designated at the end of each category. Basic Science and abstracts presented by fellows, residents, or students will be flagged within each category.
Poster sessions are held Monday – Thursday. Posters are available for viewing in Exhibit Hall C from 9:00 – 16:00 Monday through Wednesday, and 9:00 – 15:30 on Thursday. Poster session topics and schedules vary by date; please see the complete listing of scheduled poster presentation dates, times and locations on our website.
The Plenary Sessions do not require a ticket to attend. All breakout sessions in the afternoon require a ticket. Please make sure you choose your ticketed sessions in advance through your registration record as ticketed selections are not guaranteed onsite. If you wish to attend a session that is full, session ushers are instructed to allow delegates without tickets to enter the room 10 minutes after the session has started should there be room available. You may also check at the registration desk for any open spots/tickets in a session you wish to attend. For any ticketed sessions you sign up for in advance, the session tickets will be provided to you onsite when you check in at the registration desk.
Each participant receives a name badge with their registration materials upon check in at the registration desk onsite. Badges will not be mailed prior to the meeting. The name badge must be worn at all times to gain entry into the session rooms and other events.
Certificate of Attendance
Certificates of Attendance can be claimed through the MDS Congress website starting on Wednesday, June 7.
Delegates are asked to refrain from bringing children to the International Congress.
The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society designates this live activity for a maximum of 35 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. To claim CME credit for participation in the MDS International Congress, participants must complete and submit an online CME Request Form which will be available on the MDS Congress website after Wednesday, June 7, 2017.

The Canadian Dollar is the currency of Canada. Visitors should use Canadian Dollars when traveling within Canada. Only US Dollars and Canadian Dollars will be accepted as cash payment for any onsite registrations at the International Congress registration desk.

Food for Purchase
MDS does not provide lunch at the International Congress. Please plan accordingly. Concessions will be available for purchase inside the Exhibit Hall Monday - Thursday. Drinks and pastries are available for purchase at the Coal Harbor Café which is located at the entrance to the Convention Centre on the Jack Poole Plaza side (the Olympic Torch side). There are also several restaurants within the immediate vicinity of the venue.
Handouts for Sessions
MDS will not be providing any handouts or slides for any of the sessions. MDS will also not be recording any sessions. Please plan accordingly and make sure you sign up for the ticketed sessions you wish to attend!
Complementary Wi-Fi internet access will be provided by MDS for all International Congress attendees.

MDS Pavilion – NEW!
The MDS Pavilion is an excellent opportunity to engage with MDS leaders and learn how to get active with The Society. As a first time attendee of our meeting, we highly recommend that you attend the MDS Pavilion presentation, Welcome 1st Time Attendees!, on Monday, June 5 at 14:00 for a quick and helpful informational presentation to help you get the most out of your first International Congress experience.

Passports and Visas
Advance travel planning and early visa application are important, since visa applications are subject to a greater degree of scrutiny than in the past. It is strongly suggested that all attendees contact their local embassy to determine the travel documents they will need to visit Canada.
Starting in March 2016, nationals from visa-exempt countries who are flying or transit through Canada will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). The exception is for U.S. citizens and travelers with a valid visa for Canada. The online authorization process only takes a few minutes and costs CAD $7. The authorization is valid for five years or until your passport expires.
